The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

A Call for Models

Ok, it's official, I'm leaving NYC for a short hiatus. I'll still be in the area but for the most part I'll be locked away for the next 2 years changing diapers and making paintings. Good Stuff.

So here's the thing. I've spent a lot of time this year thinking about my work and I'm ready to start something completely fresh. I'll still be working on my Dirty Dirty Love™ Series, but it's evolving. That means I need models - Male and Female.

I'll be able to travel to you within reason (anywhere within a 2 hour drive from southern CT is within reason, international not so much). I will also be shooting on location in CT and at a new studio in NYC (on a limited basis). As most of you know, I work in watercolors which is a time consuming process, so I shoot photo reference of my models so I can later devote the hours necessary to creating the final painting. If at all possible, I'd love to work with at least one model that is available on a relatively regular basis as I plan on creating a body of work based around that one person. FYI, the new work, much like my older work, will include concepts of sexuality and domesticity so comfortability in your own skin and maturity are strongly encouraged.

And please, understand that I do not discriminate - if you have tattoos, piercing, a shaved head, a balding head, if you are over weight, if you are under weight, if you are young, old, short, tall, square, round, black, white, green with purple poke a dots, if you are straight, gay, lesbian, transexual, pan sexual, try-sexual, if you have never modeled before or if you do it professionally, I WANT TO WORK WITH YOU!!!

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask. I'll be working on these new images for quite a while so please do not feel that you must be available right now. I plan on shooting new models through out the year, so if you live abroad and know you'll be in the NYC area seven months down the road, let me know so we can plan on working together.

Maybe if I ever make the trip over to the states (the one I've been dreaming of/semi planning for years) we could work together!
