I've noticed with the new set of paintings I recently uploaded that the colors seem really washed out. I compared the jpgs on DA with the ones I have on my computer and there is definitely a difference. The ones on my computer are calibrated to be true to the actual paintings so I don't want to darken/saturate them to fix the jpgs on DA. Does anyone have any advice? Is this an issue with FireFox? I'm befuddled.

UPDATE:
So it seems that the problem arose from resizing the images in DA. I uploaded them at 1024px wide but downsized them to 900px for ease of viewing. I just uploaded each painting at 900px wide and they look great. In the future I'll be sure to upload everything at the size I want people to see rather than depending on a website to re-size an image. Now on to fix the problem on my blog!

I think you might be right. I cross checked with all the other images I've posted on other sites, including my blog, and the same thing happens only when I re-size an image in the site. I'm going to try and sort it out today. Thanks for your help.

the calibration you're talking about is on a specific program or you always see the accurate files on any program? it's possible that DA is making some kind of resize to the files that makes them a bit different.. i don't see how it can be a firefox issue. try uploading it on png 32 format... maybe you'll get less quality loss..

Well I used photoshop to create the original images and tested them out as pdf's and jpegs to make sure they all looked the same. My issue is solely with viewing the work online. I've since noticed that the same thing happened to the images on my blog... The one thing both DA and my blog have in common is that I re-sized the images in the site so I think it might be an issue of stripping color profiles as mentioned above. I'm going to give it a shot today.

Thanks for your advice.
