I've long considered creating a Fan Page on Facebook to better organize my personal/family life from my art/professional life.

Well, it's done.

Henceforth I'll no longer be posting art-related updates on my personal Facebook page. And, as I'm going to be doing a lot more traveling in the coming months, I know my attendance on dA will falter as well. Therefore, if you want to stay informed as to what I'm doing, how my work is evolving, where I am and what I have to say about it, log onto Facebook and add my Fan Page to your profile. You can find me here: [link]

Thanks in advance!
Reuben

PS. How many of you use twitter? I've had several people over the past year tell me that it's a good resource and a great networking tool. What are your thoughts? Do you think I'd benefit from being on there?

I really like Twitter, because I HATE reading long posts. It's a great way to spread germs of information, quick updates, get instant feedback on things...I enjoy it! But I don't over-use it. No one wants to know what I had for lunch...I mean, really.

Ha! I hate how people will post the most underwhelming information on myspace and facebook. I really don't care that you are watching the first episode of the last season of Lost or that you just broke a fingernail and thus are having a bad day. There is such a glut of disposable data already out there I fear becoming a contributor. But I do see the merits to quick, short soundbites of info, especially when trying to let people know about current updates or events... hmmm, you've given me something to consider.

Facebook drives me nuts, but I AM on it. Good for opening/show information, but so many friends send pointess apps my way: "Send the mother in your life a pretty flower!" The apps are just farming for information, I suspect. MySpace nearly crashes my computer with all its blinkies and extraneous crap; I only go there on accident. I probably visit Twitter the most. I use social networking sites for just that: NETWORKING. And like you said, that doesn't include the boring minutia of my day, nor should it. I probably use DA most, sadly. Too bad its chock full of 13 year olds stealing anime........

SO! This was probably more information than you wanted to know! Back to work for me... :XD:

Oy, I HATE those apps. I got caught up in a green patch app early on but quickly learned my lesson. Now my friends know better, lol. And I also have that problem with Myspace - some people's pages are just too laden with animated rubbish.

I'm still going to give this twitter thing some thought... Thanks for all your input though! I really appreciate it.
