On top of settling into my roll as Mister-Mom (I am a stay-at-home/work-at-home dad), I am also finishing up a sketchbook project that will travel Latin America early next year, I'm starting to breakdown the manuscript for my next illustrated book "Poetry For Beginners," and I have 2 shows opening in NYC.
The first of two group shows will open at Like The Spice Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this coming Friday, July 17th. OFF THE CLOCK [link] will feature works by artists who do work, or have worked as artist assistants. For over 2 years I was the assistant to Papo Colo, cultural producer and co-founder of Exit Art, a non-profit art space here in NYC famous for it's political and socially charged exhibitions. The show will feature the work of Rachel Beach, Jason Bryant, Allison Edge, Charlie Ledbetter, Jenny Morgan, David Mramor and yours truly. The show runs through September 5th but if you want to hang out, sip on some tasty beverages and party like an art-star, come to the opeing this Friday at 6:30pm.

The second show I am in will pop off at Last Rites Gallery in Manhattan. Owed by world-renowned tattoo artists, Paul Booth, Last Rites Gallery [link] is putting on a show called "New Breed" - featuring established and emerging artists who've never shown with the gallery before. The show opens Saturday, August 1st and features works by David R. Choquette, Mickey M. Edtinger, Charlie Immer, Chris Peters, Richard Meyer, Paul Gerrard, Shay Davis, Sara Antoinette Martin, Kurt Wiscombe and myself. Check out the invite below for more information:

I hope to see some of you out there this month!
Cheers

If you have the time, try to make it to one or both of these upcoming shows. I'm making all new work for it and I have a feeling it's going to turn some heads.
Thanks for the love.
Thanks for the luck, I think it's going to be a great summer.
