My work is on exhibit in London for the first time ever!!!

OFF THE CLOCK is an exhibition that showcases the work of artists that have at one point been assistants to other artists. We did the first OFF THE CLOCK at Like the Spice in NYC back in 2009. Now the show is having a double re-birth with two coinciding exhibitions, one in LONDON and the other in NEW YORK!!!

For those who live in or near London and have wanted to see my work in person, now's your chance. On display through Sunday, November 14th at the Mile End Art Pavilion, is Marley [link] . You can read more about the London exhibition here: [link] .

For those who live in New York, the show is on display at the the 92Y in Tribeca through November 29th. We will also me conducting an artist dinner at the 92Y on November 12th, so if you want to come and meet many of the artists and learn about their experiences, influences and processes, book your ticket now. More information can be found here: [link] .

I'm really excited about these shows and if you have a chance to see them you really should get out there and do so. I promise, you will not be disappointed by any of the work in either of the venues.

Congrats. I don't live close enough for either show but you work will always be admired, I'm taking a watercolor class and our instructor actually had us study your work a bit to see the levels of control. You're amazing, your talent, and work.

Thank you dear, and lol, really?! Which pieces did you look at? I really wonder what he said about the work.

He showed us a lot of pieces from your dirty love series I believe and then a few others that came up on your page. He wanted us to learn more control cause I'll admit I'm a pretty messy painter but to some people that is just their style and I believe he wants to to learn how to do both so we can take whatever direction we would like. So we kind of had to study your style and control and neatness a bit. He's the kind of instructor that wouldn't mention an artist who wasn't worth mentioning.

That's pretty flattering. And I have to agree with your instructor - it's best to know how to control something before you decide to loose control of it, especially when it comes to stylistic choices. A perfect example of this is Picasso. He's famous for cubism and loose, abstracted portraits but if you look at his early work - when he was in his teens - he was an insane draftsman. He broke the rules because he knew what the rules were.

To be able to have the choice is important, to be able to grow in both directions I think really gives an artist a strength in learning before they choose.

Too true. It also helps in making smarter decisions while you develop. But that doesn't mean you have to render like a photo realist, it just means that you understand the path to get there.
