I've long toyed with the idea of doing commissions and selling original art online. I still haven't completely made my mind up over the matter but I've decided to reach out to see if there is even a demand for such a thing from me. I'd most likely do it through my website and deal primarily with paypal. The bulk of the work would be ink drawings and small watercolors - all works on paper sold unframed. Price points would be decided based on size.

So what do you say - Would you buy some of my work this way? Would you not? Please be serious about this too, I'm not going to go through the trouble of setting up an online shop if it's not going to be frequented. I'd rather save the small works and prints for my models as I have done for years... But if enough people show interest... well I might just have to consider it.

Thanks in advance for your comments, thoughts and advice.

Your art is awesome and I am sure people from all over would buy it. I personally don't buy art because I make my own but I think if I had lots of money to spend your art would definitely be top on my list to buy. So yes I think you should do it!

Thanks for your advice. I used to be the same way - I'd never buy anyone's art but then recently, within the past 2 years I've really kicked up my game and collected some truly amazing works. Now I've got it all around my house and I find it a constant source of inspiration.

You know I never thought of it that way...thank you. I suppose it is true, I just recently recieved a gift from a friend here on dA, ~jeffzz111 of a very nice golden eagle made by =Nakatoni and I placed it on our livingroom wall and think gee that is so beautiful, I should get out there and paint something too. I will keep this in mind next time I see something I really like and can afford to buy it! *hopefully one of yours one day!*:iconbiggrinplz:

You're right, even if no one uses it at least it's there in place for when someone does.

my thoughts exactly.
Go for it. But sales will rely on marketing yourself. Keep up the exhibitions to get your name out there so people come looking for you.
